Quick Write 121411 "3.2% really got me"

For the last three days, I’ve read this article of 1761 words. "Another Thing to Sort of Pin on David Foster Wallace" Why I picked it up for my Ondoku material is its vocabulary. I read the article while ago (published in late August), but I don’t think I fully understood what the author is talking. Then I revisited the article and read intensively while checking every word that I was not 120% sure of. I mean I checked the words whose meaning I can infer from the context, but am not 120% sure of my inference. The following is a list of words that I looked up in the dictionary. I

out (v), undercut (v), sneaky (a), acuity (n), diction (n), pleonasm (n), legalese (n), repudiate (v), recursive (a), idiosyncratic (a), beanie (n), baroque (n), phat (a), loquacity (n), disingenuous (a), slangy (a), quirk (n), shuck (n), grate (v), exasperate (v), slackerize (v), a legion of, monger (n), tap-dancing and hedging, lodge an argument, write large, contrived (a), shamble (v), enraged (a), mutated (a), jokily (ad), feign (v), tic (n), ur-, drenched (a), bemoan (v), nudged (a), lisible (a), scriptible (a), artifice (n), chastise (v), cri de coeur, balm (n), ail (v), preemptively (ad), rebut (n), equivocation (n), jeremiad (n), a veneer of, folksiness (n), proclamation (n), folly (n), pore over, patriarchy (n), straddle (v), preclude (v), defuse (v)

Those 57 words consists only 3.2% of the whole passage of 1761 words, but is enough to make me feel frustrated and think that I don’t understand the passage to the fullest. I’m aware that my vocabulary size is super tiny, but this passage really got me. So far I’ve read the passage aloud for a couple of times after checking the aforementioned words, and the passage started to seem okay to me. But initially I totally CRASHED and BURNED. Well, that all said, my English learning life still goes on and on and on…
