Quick Write 100511 “Writing to serve others”

I post a QW product every day on the forum as part of my daily English language learning practice. Some might say that I could keep a private journal, but I choose to do that on the forum open to anybody in the cyberspace. One of the reason is that it makes it a bit easier for me to keep writing every day, having imaginary readership who’ s supposed to visit the forum and spend a few minutes to read my pieces. Plus, posting my writing on the forum makes me conceive an imaginary writing coach who keeps an eye on my weak will and laziness. In other words, at least for me, this is exactly what it takes to keep writing every day. I’ll never be able to imagine myself keeping a private diary in English without conceiving someone who cares for my learning routine. Yes, I won’t hesitate to admit that I’m weak-willed to such extent. But a blog post I happened to read this morning has made me reflect on my attitude toward my daily QWing and QW products. It says, quote “Writing is to serve others. Writing that makes no change in people is meaningless.” Well, QWing serves me for sure, but I’m not really sure if and how my QW products serve others. What can the visitors take away from QWF? How can QWF serve its visitors? I’ll definitely need to give some serious thoughts to this question.
