Quick Write 090411 “Joy trigger”

What’s your joy trigger - something that brings you joy, tiny little things that never fail to make you happy -? What’s instantly come up to my mind may be trivial in other people’s eyes, but why not delve into this for today’s QWing theme?

1) Daily speech practice
Okay, folks. I’m NOT saying this in order to impress myself as an English teacher who constantly brushed up on her English ability, or insist that I’d be a role model for an English learner in EFL (= English as a Foreign Language)setting or anything. I just love reading my favorites speeches and pieces aloud, trying to recite some of those, and tuning up my English pronunciation and delivery every morning. The moment in which I say “Hi, how’ it going?” to my English identity is the source of my daily delight.

2) Cats on streets
I might have said that somewhere (“What makes me smile” QW piece, I guess). Yes, again, “Cats”. The ones who are straying or strutting on streets always bring me a big, big smile. I adore those cats because they are always, at least it seems to me, indifferent to how humans see them, and don’t really care about whether they’d be loved by humans or not. That’s why I cannot help loving them. Yes, I’m a perverse person. I always wish I could live like an independent, capricious, self-sufficient, but harmless cat.

3) Interaction with friends
Seriously, I can spend days without going out or seeing anybody in person, but I do need “conversations”. It’s been almost a year and a half since I made my Twitter account. Tweeting has completely been part of my daily life. I don’t necessarily need response to every single stuff I tweet, but I like posting what I found interesting and enjoy chatting with my Twitter buddies whose tweets enrich my life to a great extent. Funny tweets console the boredom I bear, inspirational tweets encourage me to push myself further, and thoughtful tweets make me want to be of their help when needed. Yes, “Quick Write Forum” is also the platform on which we can interact. I look forward to your comment and contribution to the forum!

What’s your joy trigger? The article that I picked this theme from was concluded like this: “We'd love for you to share them with all of us… Who knows -- yours might work for someone else, and trigger in her some much-needed joy.”
